Collection: Autoimmune Tests
Autoimmune tests are used to diagnose autoimmune diseases, which occur when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its cells, organs, tissues, or the entire body. The immune system produces antibodies that attack the cells it does not recognize as its own. Autoimmune testing can determine if a person has a disease that affects specific organs or one that is more widespread. There are two types of autoimmune disorders: those that affect multiple organs (systemic autoimmune diseases) and those that affect a single organ or tissue (localized).
